Ridgebacks did not KILL lions, they tracked African game & held it at bay for the hunter. They were also used to guard and herd making them a very versatile breed.

A Ridgeback owner must be firm, fair, & consistent. They require early training which must be maintained because they are large, independent & intelligent.

They are experts at butt and crotch pokes. They will chase anything but won't bring it back. They will eat anything given a chance ( including my couch). They don't like being wet or cold. They will dig to China. They shed little eyelash hairs that embed into everything.

Ridgebacks are beautiful, impressive, agile hounds and you must be sure this is the dog you want.
